NLS-1000 The NLS-1000 Startup Range Channel is designed for use in a reactor instrumentation system to indicate reactor power in the startup or source region. It can be used with most existing fission chamber assemblies or neutron sensitive proportional counters. Signals from the neutron detector are fed through a preamplifier, remotely located to minimize EMI and other sources of interference, into the startup channel electronics module displaying the count rate as well as the rate of change of the log count rate in seconds or decades per minute. Logarithmic counting is used to provide a continuous indication of reactor power covering seven decades. The NLS-1000 is equipped with a high voltage power supply, and trips for loss of high voltage, high and low count rates, and period. Self test functions can sequentially check count rate, period and high voltage. |
