Example: A Marketer has 2000 customers on the Pacific coast that receives deliveries from 20 distribution terminals, which may be owned by Kinder Morgan, Chevron, ST Services, etc. Throughout each day, the Marketer needs to know what each customer received, adjust their credit limits and add orders and new customers to each of the 20 terminal management systems. To accomplish this today, the Marketer may have two or three people calling and exchanging faxes with each of the 20 terminals, and hopes someone at the terminals has time to fax BOL copies and enter the new credit limits before one of his customers makes a run on him.
