Mission
The mission
of the GA-ESI Radiation Monitoring System (RMS) Users' Group is to provide
a professional organization dedicated to assisting the members in the
effective management of their RMS, thereby protecting the health and
safety of their employees and the public. This is accomplished through
the following:

between GA-ESI and the members
- Communication
between the members

Opportunities for professional development and training
Membership
Membership
is open to all utilities or facilities, both domestic and foreign. Voting
membership is limited to utilities that own GA-ESI RMS equipment. Other
users and/or individuals may take advantage of the Users' Group opportunities
as non-voting members or as non-members (subject to the Users' Group
Charter Bylaws). Participants represent the various disciplines with
RMS responsibilities, i.e., health physics, instrumentation & control,
maintenance, chemistry, and engineering. Officers are utility members
elected by the membership.
Meetings
Meetings
are normally held semiannually, in the spring and fall. GA-ESI headquarters
or host utilities provide meeting locations. Prior to each meeting
an agenda is prepared by the Users' Group Chairman and is composed
of:
- User
presentations; topics such as operation, maintenance, calibration,
licensing, engineering

Invited speakers presentations; topics by representatives of regulatory
agencies, national labs, research institutes, GA-ESI subcontractors,
etc.

GA-ESI presentations; new developments, product improvements, user feedback

Breakout sessions; informal group discussions of related topics,
problems and solutions related to specific disciplines

Open forum; user questions and concerns are voiced and discussed
Technical subcommittee meetings are formed and scheduled as necessary
for specific topics. GA-ESI training classes, workshops, and host plant
tours are often held in conjunction with the meetings.
