San
Diego-based General Atomics Electronic Systems, Inc. (GA-ESI) is
comprised of five product lines involving different aspects of energy.
One
serves
the
petroleum
and
chemical
industries, two focus on the nuclear/radiation monitoring industry,
and two provide
high power systems and components. The common thread of our systems
technology is the design, development, and manufacture of secure
and
highly reliable microprocessor/PC-based control and information handling
systems.
Terminal
Automation Products (TAP)
The worldwide leader
in providing automated distribution, inventory control and transaction
processing systems to bulk product storage facilities that handle petroleum,
chemical and agricultural products. TAP systems manage approximately
$100 billion worth of products annually. Our Web-enabled systems allow
customers to substantially reduce their operating costs while increasing
their productivity and services. TAP is unique in its field by supplying
turnkey solutions that include software, process control hardware and
complete electrical and mechanical installation services.
Radiation
Monitoring Systems (RMS)
The recognized
leader in the design, manufacture, and support of a full range of radiation
monitoring, detecting, control, data collection, and display equipment.
GA-ESI maintains an installed base of equipment and systems at over
half of the currently operating nuclear plants in the United States
and
at
numerous sites in Europe and throughout the Far East.
General
Atomics Energy Products
(manufacturer of Maxwell high voltage capacitors and power supplies)
Maxwell
capacitors are well-known and highly respected critical components
in
the medical defibrillator, industrial laser, and pulsed power systems
markets. The engineering staff designs custom components to provide
optimal size, weight, and cost for most applications. This product
line was acquired from Maxwell Technologies in 2000. The
Power Systems group grew out of the Power Supply product line. Working
together with our affiliate companies, General Atomics and Power Converters,
GA-ESI can now offer
integrated solutions involving power supplies, capacitors, solid-state
switching,
and advanced controls.
Gulftronic® Separator Systems
The Gulftronic® Separator System is a continuous operation, electrostatic, on-stream separation system currently in use by most major oil companies. Since their initial introduction in 1979, over 30 systems have been installed at petroleum refineries worldwide.
TRIGA®
TRIGA, with over
65 facilities in 22 countries, is the premier supplier of nuclear research
reactors for university, industrial, government, and medical applications.
Originally designed to meet requirements for operator training, educational
programs including nuclear research, and fuel development, TRIGA's inherently
safe and flexible design has allowed its usage to be expanded to meet
the requirements of application in medical and agricultural research,
isotope production, and neutron radiography.
