Models RD-10B, RD-11, RD-12

The Models RD-10B, RD-11 and RD-12 are Geiger-Mueller (GM) tube detector assemblies for use as area monitors. These are typically placed at key locations throughout a facility to monitor radiation levels and to provide signals to the RM-80 digital microprocessor. The detector assemblies consist of a GM tube with an energy compensating filter, a radioactive checksoure with actuating mechanism, and electronic circuitry. Each detector is contained in an aluminum weatherproof housing with connectors. Standard clamps and wall brackets are supplied with each detector as is a hanger bracket for the area monitor calibration.

Servicing

The Models RD-10B, RD-11 and RD-12 detectors are designed for easy servicing in the field without any special tools by removal of a lightweight metal cover used to protect the GM tube detector and preamplifier electronics. The photo at right shows the detector/preamp assembly with the protective cover removed. The complete detector assembly may be replaced by removal of a quick disconnect connector which connects the high voltage and signal cables to the assembly.
