General Atomics Electronic Systems, Inc. (GA-ESI) liquid monitors range from a simple 2” X 2” Nal(Tl) detector in SST sealed container for single detector use to an open-framed skid with a low range 3” X 3” Nal(Tl) in 6 Liter Marinelli tank and a high range 1” X 0.5” Nal(Tl) in 0.3 Liter Marinelli tank using a unique automated liquid sampling technique. Also available is a dual gamma detection unit with background compensation. These monitors measure gross gamma radioactivity concentrations in water as well as gamma dose rate levels in areas throughout a plant site. They are located in areas to provide plant operators with a measurement of the radiation fields and of the concentrations acting as early-warning elements to identify zones of elevated activity, allowing remedial action to be taken. The monitors can be linked to a central computer for remote display and control.
