4 kHz, 20 kW
A
4-kilohertz repetition rate, water-cooled, 20-kilowatt
average power, capacitor charging high voltage power supply.
The
compact 3.0 kV power supply provides excellent precision
and pulse-to-pulse repeatability, rapid response to programmed
changes in output voltage, and many other features required
by this demanding application. This design represents a
number of “firsts” for General Atomics Energy
Products:
15 kJ/s, 26 kV
High Voltage Power Supplies provided to Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory for the National Ignition Facility (NIF). The 400 custom 15
kJ/s, 26 kV power supplies are configured so that each 2 MJ capacitor
bank is charged by 2 parallel power supplies in slightly over 1 minute.
12 kJ/s, 65 kV
High Voltage Power Supplies provided to the Los Alamos National Laboratory's
ATLAS program. The 96 custom-designed power supplies are comprised of
48 each positive polarity, 12 kJ/s, 65 kV power supplies and 48 each
negative polarity, 12 kJ/s, 65 kV power supplies.
The oil-insulated AC/DC switching power supplies are used to charge large energy storage capacitors in 24 Marx Generator Modules. The Marx capacitors are charged to ±60 kV and then discharged in series to deliver a pulse of high peak power used for high-energy physics experiments.
20
kJ/s, 7 kV
High Voltage and High Power Switching Power Supplies used at the
High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility, (HELSTF), located at White
Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. GAEP designed and built 80 custom
20 kJ/s, 7 kV capacitor charging power supplies for the U.S. Army's
100-kW diode-laser-pumped solid-state high energy laser development.
20 kJ/s, 1.5 kV
High Power Switching Power Supplies used in the Advanced
Linear Motor Project. The 20 kJ/s, 1.5 kV, air insulated capacitor
charging power supplies charge a single shot capacitor bank with
a duty cycle of 40 seconds on, 15 minutes off.
10 kJ/s, 50 kV, 300 VDC Input
High
Voltage and High Power Switching Power Supplies with a DC input of
300V. The
10 kJ/s, 50 kV, oil insulated capacitor charging powers supplies have an efficiency
greater than 90%.
